The Grocery Shopping Support Package
The Grocery Shopping Support Package
If you need support and encouragement during grocery shopping, this package is designed for you! Grocery shopping support involves coaching you, in real-time, through the major barriers many people in recovery from eating disorders face while shopping. The coaching sessions are tailored to your unique needs and challenges in recovery. Whether you’re feeling anxious about going out to the grocery store, uncertain about how to plan or shop, paralyzed by seeing calorie counts on grocery items, scared about shopping with a cart, and/or anxious during the entire shopping experience, grocery shopping support coaching can help!
During coaching sessions we will work together to:
Set a goal for the session
Process feelings that arise during the anticipation of grocery shopping
Plan menus based around themes (e.g., snacks for the week, lunches for the week) that meet your personal needs and budget
Work to increase the number and type of items that you need to purchase
Make food item selections that nourish your body and aid in your recovery
Reframe eating disorder thoughts that keep you from nourishing yourself
Process feelings that arise during the actual shopping experience
This package includes:
One 30 minute assessment
Three 1 hour grocery shopping sessions
Tailored goals
One a week email/text support
We will select a grocery store (or a few stores) that is/are close to your home base. Working together, we will start the first session by developing a short grocery list of less than 10 items, and then shop for the items. During the second and third sessions we will work to increase the number and variety of items for you to purchase. The cost of the package only includes my consulting fee. Clients are responsible for the cost of the groceries.
