Marvel at the World Around You

As summer closes and autumn is upon us shortly, my wish for you is to find some time to rest and relax. What are some of your favorite ways to rest and relax? One of my favorite ways to relax is to spend time outdoors. I recently had a chance to spend some time at the beach, which always feels like home to me- the sand, the waves, the breeze, the shells, and the sounds (California native here!). Taking time to slow down and appreciate nature leaves me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

In the guided journal Wild Calm: Finding Mindfulness in Forest Bathing, the author Joan Vorderbruggen has a wonderful entry called "Take Time to Marvel" with the following passage: "Marvel at the intricate patterned beauty of an acorn, how clouds can look like floating feathers, or how a plant can grow in seemingly impossible conditions." Joan invites us to marvel at what we see around us. She asks us to consider how we can translate these realizations into other areas of our lives.

I invite you to pause and marvel at the world around you. It’s important for our mental, emotional, and spiritual health!!
